    About the Role



    We’re looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated individual to join our email marketing team. The Email Marketing Operations Specialist position will be responsible for executing the deployment of E*TRADE’s email communications including coding HTML, building email templates, sending test emails, preparing the final audience list, scheduling email deployment, and communicating project status updates to stakeholders. The primary focus is the successful creation and deployment of E*TRADE’s email programs measured by accuracy, timeliness, and risk mitigation. Key projects include the development of automated email campaigns and customer journeys to support ongoing programs/APIs and providing technical support for ad hoc project requests from the business. This position has a high degree of cross functional interaction and partners closely with members of the Marketing, Decision Management, and Software Engineering teams. The individual should be self-motivated, have the ability to work both independently and in teams, and balance a workload that consists of detail-oriented email execution processes and documentation. The candidate must be comfortable in a data driven environment and working with and enforcing business policies. This role reports to the Senior Manager of the Email Deployment Team.



    • Execute against protocol which defines and sequences the activities needed to successfully deploy an email communication
    • Develop automated email campaigns and customer journeys to optimize new and existing Marketing programs
    • Work with the Customer Engagement and Marketing Logistic teams to coordinate campaign assets, data delivery, and launch requirements
    • Establish a communication cadence to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff in the organization, on the status of projects and email deployments
    • Segment audience data based on customer preferences and additional criteria
    • Leverage approved creative content to create HTML emails using HTML and inline CSS
    • Utilize tools and scripting language to update emails and apply personalization
    • Ensure that deliverables are on time and at the required level of quality
    • Provide support as needed for high level campaign performance reporting and general inquiries



    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business disciplines
    • 3-5 years experience managing email deployment, technical projects, and the deployment of marketing programs
    • 3+ years experience web development with strong knowledge of coding HTML and CSS
    • Experience testing and troubleshooting in multiple browsers or email clients
    • Strong experience building automated email campaigns and customer journeys
    • Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, PHP, ASP, Object Oriented Programming


    • Proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, and SQL
    • Excellent project/process management skills and a strong eye for detail and documentation
    • Proficiency in a marketing automation environment
    • Experience managing and transmitting data files across multiple systems
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent written and communication skills with both business and technical colleagues
    • Prior experience in financial industry and/or with cloud based marketing is a plus
