    About the Role

    SUMMARY

     

    E*TRADE is seeking an experienced Product Management professional with expertise managing complex systems and processes to bring superior digital customer experiences to market. This position will be responsible for prioritizing complex development work that supports firm initiatives. Candidates must be adept at identifying solutions, managing dependencies, and working with cross-functional teams to oversee product development through every stage of the product development life cycle. Candidates should also be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused with strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, and should also have working knowledge of U.S. exchange-listed equities & options.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Fulfill role as Product Owner of core brokerage trading services, supporting multiple customer-facing and internal platforms
    • Prioritize development tasks, balancing firm priorities with risk reduction efforts, system performance, and requests from various internal partners
    • Identify solutions, drive pace, and own end-to-end execution plan for digital initiatives
    • Write project documents and requirements (presentations, user stories, migration plans, communication plans)
    • Clearly define success criteria and maintain awareness of compliance concerns, risk control processes, and regulatory landscape
    • Act as communication hub for development requests, product support, & issue resolution
    • Work with project managers and cross-functional teams to oversee development throughout product life cycle (conceptualization, requirements, design, tech development, testing, implementation)
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt course as issues arise to meet aggressive timelines
    • Promote full Agile implementation with team delivering working software each sprint
    • Acquire a robust understanding of E*TRADE systems, processes, products, services, and organizational structure in order to find optimal solutions and achieve rapid execution of key initiatives
    • Partner and build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders to achieve organizational goals, including Technology Development, UX/Design, Marketing, Education, Service, Operations, Quality Assurance, Order Management, Risk, Compliance, Legal, executive leadership, third-party vendors, and other product owners & teams

    Qualifications

    Basic

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital product management / product development
    • Minimum of 3 years’ financial industry experience, preferably in online retail brokerage segment

     

     

    Preferred

    • Product or project management certifications a plus
    • Experience working with complex systems and data management processes
    • Equity & option investing experience required; familiarity with bonds, mutual funds, and futures a plus
    • Strong supporting skills in the areas of user experience and requirements writing; familiarity with Agile/Scrum project management & software development processes a plus
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
    • Experience working with UX, technology, & other partners to drive web/mobile/digital product releases
    • Knowledge of trade life cycle, order management, & trade processing a plus
    • Knowledge of E*TRADE products, services, & systems a plus
    • Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills with ability to anticipate issues and identify innovative paths to resolution
    • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written, verbal, technical writing, public speaking/presentations, negotiation, meeting coordination, etc.) with ability to tailor message to any audience (technology, service, business stakeholders, etc.)
    • Strong leadership & organizational skills with ability to inspire, educate, listen, learn, & thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
    • Positive, collaborative, & adaptive mindset with detail-oriented approach and strong focus on customer experience
    • Robust understanding of market behavior, financial instruments, & trading workflow with innate sense of how customers perceive & interact with software
