    About the Role

    SUMMARY
    The role of the Senior Risk Business Analyst will reside within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. You will join a team of energetic associates, driven by ideas and goals to enhance risk management processes across E*TRADE. We look for associates willing to think beyond traditional organizational structures and with a strong strategic mindset, build and learn as well as grow personally and professionally.

     

    The primary role of the Senior Risk Business Analyst is to serve as a liaison between Risk and Compliance business partners and the IT organization in order to provide solutions that meet user needs, improve business performance by assisting with the technical analysis of business requirements, problem solving and troubleshooting as part of a larger project team. Accountable for ensuring that clear, concise requirements have been captured and having a clear understanding of the business partner’s needs. The Senior Risk Business Analyst will focus on the development of user stories for projects supporting the Risk Management and Compliance business functions.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Drive and highlight conversations amongst business owners to promote collaborative and enterprise solutions for technical needs
    • Gather, analyze, document and manage business requirements (both functional and non-functional) for technology solutions that address business needs
    • Translate business and user requirements into user stories for the technology organization and manage changes to the source documents.
    • Assist in identifying potential solutions for the business and provide input to project issues or risks
    • Identify project and business partner requirement interdependencies, communicate requirement/scope issues, and participate in driving to resolution
    • Assist with the development of the testing/validation strategy
    • Ensure traceability of user stories through deployment, including change management
    • Leverage domain and analyst practice expertise to provide the most effective solutions to the business partners in the most efficient means possible - including selecting the appropriate analysis techniques and tools (process modeling, use cases, etc.) for each project
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with technology teams and business partners at management and end user levels

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Basic

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field; or four years of equivalent work experience
    • 3+ years of Agile and SDLC experience
    • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in business and functional requirements elicitation, translation and documentation
    • Experience with writing user stories and creating mockups, visualizations or wireframes use cases
    • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use user story, project management and Agile tools
    • Experience working with the following tools: MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Visio

    Preferred

    • Solid knowledge of financial risk systems - Risk Management governance tools (e.g. RSA Archer), Market Risk systems (e.g. PolyPaths)
    • Strong analytic skills including the ability to identify patterns, potential issues and then translate those into user stories
    • Self-starter, able to analyze processes for potential improvements
    • Able to work effectively on multiple projects across various Risk and Compliance business functions
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with business process modeling
    • Experience supporting applications and business partners within the Financial Services industry
