    We are seeking a passionate, proactive and experienced Design Ops Director to join our Design team in Jersey City


    About the Design Team
    We are a team of many skills with the goal to re-invent convenience for our customers by designing experiences that are modern looking, easy-to-use, easy-to-understand while being respectful of our customers’ emotions from the ups-and-downs of the Financial markets. We are agents of change and have to deal with regular challenges from a highly regulated industry, however we are resilient and keep showing value by inspiring and getting results.


    About the role
    Our Design team has tripled in size and has added new functions in the last 3.5 years. As a result, our team reached a certain maturity that requires more organizational help. The Design Ops Director will own the design process and ensure designers work collaboratively and deliver against quality standards during the different phases of design and product development. Additionally, this role will require strong collaboration with the design leadership to evangelize Design Thinking across teams and foster a strong culture and community for designers. Furthermore, the Design Ops role will manage our cross-functional Design teams such as our Design Language, Accessibility and UX writing. The Design Ops Director will report to the VP of Design.



    • Drive our operational strategy (structure, culture, people, resources, planning, and process)
    • Own and evolve our Design Process
    • Ensure design teams move efficiently along our Design Process and bring customers along the way - track progress and meet deadlines.
    • Manage reviews with stakeholders and ensure a ‘Path to Yes’ for designers
    • Ensure Design role is defined, understood and put into action during development phases
    • Manage our cross-functional Design teams and amplify their fantastic work – Design Language, Accessibility and UX Writing
    • Own the relationships with our tools partners such as InVision, Zeplin and MURAL - manage contract renewals, introduce new tools and setup training for designers
    • Own all aspects of our team career’s development from identifying resources and skills, hiring process, onboarding new members, defining design role levels
    • Support Design leadership to establish an environment and culture where designers can do their best work




    Technical skills needed

    • Thorough knowledge of user-centered design principles and approach
    • Experience operationalizing design
    • Experience managing teams to deliver on time and to the quality agreed
    • Experience managing or creating complex design systems
    • Thorough knowledge of Accessibility standards and value
    • Experience working with UX Writers
    • Experience with the Jobs-to-be-done framework
    • Experience working with Tech following Agile methodologies

    Soft skills needed

    • Passion for designing digital products
    • Strong people management skills
    • Great communicator
    • Great team player with respectful attitude
    • Successful track record of relationship building, problem solving and quick execution
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects without compromising quality



    • 15+ years in UX Design required
    • College or University degree required in related field (Master’s degree preferred)
    • Digital portfolio to review
