About the Role

 

SUMMARY

 

E*TRADE is seeking a Principal Technical Project Manager with Agile Scrum experience and extensive experience in software engineering, to join a dynamic team of technology pioneers. You will be leading all aspects of several new products and enhancements from ideation through roll outs in close partnership with product management. Your software engineering experience, collaborative approach, ability to identify challenges as opportunities teamed with energy and excitement to coach, drive, and facilitate will deliver best in class financial services products to the market. Principal program manager must be fearless organizer and excellent servant leader cross-functionally with multiple teams and external vendors.
A key component to success in this role is to develop relationships across the organization, including Technology, Product Management, and other functional areas, in order to influence teams to ensure high priority requirements are appropriately detailed and prioritized to be worked on by the team/s.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Drive cross collaboration within Scrum Teams and with Product Owners, Sponsors, Stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and shared services organizations while prioritizing people and relationships over tools and processes.
  • Continually drive the creation of business value and overall project success in the form of high value, high quality working software in collaboration with all our technology and business partners
  • Proactively manage to remove impediments and risks to ensure that the teams can focus on delivering incremental business value
  • Establish the team’s baseline velocity, sprint cadence and release plan. Continuously improve for efficiency and value
  • Ensure the team remains focused on delivering high quality working software at the end of each sprint
  • Lead core scrum ceremonies and coach the team on foundational and advanced agile concepts of value
  • The daily standup, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, user story mapping and hypothesis validation with strong listening, teaching ability and passion for agility is a must

Qualifications

 

Basic

  • Undergraduate degree in science or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in Agile development, scrum, project and program management.
  • PMP and/or CSM or other project management/Agile professional certification

Preferred

  • Experience in problem solving within fast-paced and constantly changing environments.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
  • Experience in communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Experience in executive level communication and strategy alignment
  • Experience in FinTech, Financial Services and related mobile application development
  • Possesses a strategic flexibility to implement project management approaches encompassing agile frame works
  • Active utilization of core Agile framework, successfully managing scrum teams and release trains
  • Core tools proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, JIRA and Confluence.
